There's also a couple of WMI classes that ConfigMgr creates called Win32Reg_SMSGuestVirtualMachine and Win32Reg_SMSGuestVirtualMachine 32 (v_GS_VIRTUAL_MACHINE and v_GS_VIRTUAL_MACHINE_64 in SQL). These info is populated from the registry and definitely works for Hyper-V guests and to my knowledge also works for VMware guests.
