Part 2 isn’t available yet. Also keep in mind, this isn’t monitoring, this is adding the data into hardware inventory so you can query/report on it. If you are looking for monitoring of the events before a HDD failure, I don’t think ConfigMgr is the right solution. I am not sure what is out there for workstation monitoring (SC OpsMgr?). A report needs to query SMART or event viewer and then a subscription.
