There is no official recommendation; however, using a SQL re-indexing and statistics rebuild script/task is standard operating procedure for any SQL Server database and the method that Steve describes (or one very similar) is used by Microsoft IT on their internal ConfigMgr hierarchy. They actually detailed this in a session at last year's (last ever) MMS.

Good stuff. Do we have any Microsoft's official recommendations on this! If we implement this then i hope, we won't fall under unsupported scenario ;) Regards Anoop On 21 Feb 2014 08:22, "Jason Sandys" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: Yes. I was looking at ways to try and speed up the console a bit and came across this. Our SQL guy said he's familiar with it and he's used Ola's solution on other databases with success. Figured I'd check with the community to get opinions before I implemented anything. http://www.arunknows.com/2013/07/12/optimizing-performance-in-configmgr-2012/ Thanks, James ________________________________ IRS Compliance: Any tax advice contained in this communication (including any attachments) is not intended or written to be used, and cannot be used, for the purpose of (i) avoiding penalties imposed under the Internal Revenue Code or applicable state or local tax law or (ii) promoting, marketing, or recommending to another party any transaction or matter addressed herein. ________________________________ Confidentiality Notice: This e-mail is intended only for the addressee named above.
