We are running SCCM 2007 R3 and are looking to review the way we manage the
client patches (not software updates) and I wanted to get a take on how others
deal with patching clients.

We use a couple of mechanisms at the moment:

* Use the PATCH parameter with a command line install, or via Task
Sequence install

* Use the PATCH parameter in a custom MobileClient.tcf file

* Deploy updates via traditional Software Distribution

We have thought of using SCUP to achieve better compliance, importing the patch
files and deploying them via Software Updates, but we are not sure if this will
break the OSD process if the Task Sequence installs client updates. We are
going to test this to find out.

How do you manage client patches, such as installation order, deployment method
etc.?

Dave
