I found that even if it installed properly, if the detection is not working,
you get a failed.

I’m still not having any luck. I want this app to be installed from the
software center. I’ve tried the MSI, and now the EXE, it fails no matter how
I try. The agent installs, but no registry information is written, so it has
no idea where to report. Here’s the latest snippet of my AppEnforce.log. It
says success here, but shows failed in software center, and as I said, it’s
obviously not completely installing since no registry entries are written.

+1 here, using a "FramePkg.exe /install=agent /forceinstall" commandline as
the msi proved too problematic.

I'm doing it during the deploy task sequence though; since the agent creates
a system-specific GUID on install and also registers a sequence number with
the server for further communication, I didn't want to jump through hoops of
clearing all that out before capturing the image. That also ensures the
McAfee Agent installs all other McAfee components according to our most
recent configuration and DAT level (in the task sequence post agent install
I force an agent communication interval and I have it sleep 15 minutes for
all installs/updates to complete).

Yep, we have it in our B&C.

Has anyone successfully deployed the McAfee ePO Agent silently? I’ve tried
the suggestions linked below, the client installs, but no sire information
is transferred, so the client doesn’t know where to look. And there’s no
log, even though I entered one.
