I am not quite sure.  I would think try to disable your AV services and be 
ready to update your image to DP and see if the update works.  I would assume 
that the windows temp location where the boot images are being handled needs to 
be excluded as well.  Article online said c:\windows\temp\boot images and sub 
folders.
Good luck.  I wasted a bunch of time on this because I had added a driver and 
thought that was what my error was coming from.
There are also lots of articles saying reload wak and recopy the boot.wim.
The AV exclusion worked for me.

I tried to add a new driver to my x64 boot image and now I get faied to update 
boot image. I have since removed that driver from the driver tab, but the 
driver will not update.  I see articles but not sure which one I need to follow.
I tried recopying the wim file from the WAK winpe folder and doing a reload but 
it still fails.
