User-based deployments are mostly the same as computer-based deployments. The
ability to target a user's primary device using User Device Affinity is one of
the frequently mentioned features of the new app model, but it is not the
default behavior. There is a special Requirement specifically related to
whether or not the device is the user's primary device, and it can be set as
part of the Deployment Method (Niall's link shows an example).

There is no setting for auto-uninstalling an application. However, because you
can deploy the Uninstall for an app, and because you can define collections
with Include or Exclude of another collection, you can set up the behavior you
want with just a few extra steps.

Subject: [mssms] Understanding application deployment to users

My understanding of deploying applications to users in CM12 is that if I deploy
something to a user it will only deploy to their primary computer(s). In my
testing though, when I logon to a computer I've been touched before, the
software is being deployed. What am I doing wrong? Or is my understanding
incorrect? The application is deployed as required not optional, not sure if
that makes a difference.

One other question I might sneak in - I thought there was some option to remove
applications that have been deployed to a computer/user if the user/computer is
removed from the collection the deployment is linked to. Can't seem to find
such a setting anywhere though.

Daniel.
