Having been responsible for a mid-size VMware farm in the past, I would
agree that this is not advisable; however, I am curious what motivates the
question? What do you need to accomplish that requires the hypervisor to
have a ConfigMgr client?

Actually, as I wrote this, it hit me that this may not even work or at
minimum be supported.  ESXi 5.x is truly a hypervisor and does not include
a Linux service console like it used to.
