This is what I refer to as "the golden image" scenario.  A few years back there 
was the concept of "the golden image", which was supposed to be for your 
company, what meant the "gold standard" for what a computer in your company 
should have on it.

The problem was of course, defining what that meant.  Tracking changes, 
depending upon who you talk to, could mean "anytime Sherry replies to an email" 
to "we really only care if a box was reimaged".   It's up to the-powers-that-be 
to define what they "mean" by "tracking changes" and then you can propose the 
god-awful-3rd-party-super-expensive-solution to fulfill that request for them.  
(at which point, if not sooner, they'll abandon the request, or scale down 
their requirements).

For example, you could implement scom to monitor eventvwr events for every time 
software is installed or a software update is installed.  I can't think of 
anyone that would actually do that, but in my twisted brain I think that's 
possible.  Expensive, but possible.

Digging in to the ConfigMgr reporting at the request of a client, and I’m 
looking to see if there’s a way to generate a report of the specific changes 
made over time to a particular computer. In particular, I’m looking for 
software installs and Software Update installs.  The AI reports Hardware -10A 
and Hardware - 10B only give a count of changes made to certain inventory 
classes, but don’t actually give info on the changes themselves.  I’m looking 
at it from a compliance standpoint where I need to see what changes have been 
made to a machine during a given period of time. 
  
Can anyone point me in the direction of where (if at all) that information is 
stored in the CM database?
