We use Solarwinds (eminentware) strictly for 3rd party patching, no issues,
nice reports. The one item I really like about them, if security sees a new
app to be vulnerable, I normally call in and they update the catalog with
the vendor and application to be added into the product. 

 

Granted, there are more hoops to go through since Solwarwinds acquired
eminentware, but I'm ok with that.

$10 client/year would pay for 1.5 FTE at my place.  I would rather pay
someone to write the patches in house and use the leftover hours to do other
work.  I don't think patching is worth more than $2 client/year. More than
that and the numbers don't add up.
