When using Windows 7 and above (as I hope all of you are by now), you should
use the driver store and import drivers as needed into that using DISM or the
equivalent. (Forget about manipulating DevicePath or touching the INF folder.)

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd799258(v=WS.10).aspx

It's easy enough with DISM to remove drivers too, if you wanted to remove old
versions to free up disk space. Otherwise, Windows would end up picking the
highest version automatically.

-Michael

Subject: RE: [mssms] Printer Drivers in SOE

That is one option.

Refer to here ... http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753716.aspx

Must take note of the bit about "%systemroot%\inf" ... and must look at the
links under the "Additional references" section and all the GPO's related to
those.

If copying drivers to local folders consider how you are going to manage those
over time (e.g. newer versions).

Here is a tool that can help you populate the "DevicePath" key ...

Hi All,

One of our account request to include Printers PCL5 and Universal and other
Printers Drivers to be integrate in SOE Image. So that After SOE Deployment
once they try to install printers & Configure the drivers should take it from
local SOE driver.

How can we achieve this ?

Is something to add a folder Name in below regkey ? or any better way of doing
this?
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Devicepath

Thanks,
Hun
