Right, I think the idea though is that most people just follow directions,
so they need to be guided on how best to implement the update. Since it's
more likely that people will follow Microsoft guidance, than some random
person's blog (like mine :)), I think it is advisable for Microsoft to write
with this mindset.

Not a limitation of the installer or CM obviously just what the author
decided to use out of convenience of the post.  Looks like a simple blog
post for someone who wants to write it up. :)

That's nice--a standalone redistributable, finally.  Of course, I'm curious
why it's blogged to be deployed as a classic package/program/advert.  I
can't see why it couldn't easily be an Application Deployment.
