Gustavus Adolphus College is seeking a Windows System Administrator. https://gustavus.edu/humanresources/employment/#administrative JOB DESCRIPTION Windows System Administrator & Networking Analyst BASIC FUNCTION: The Windows System Administrator is a system administrator working for Gustavus Technology Services who is responsible for administering desktops, servers and both wired and wireless network infrastructure that deliver a wide variety of services to the campus community. Qualifications * Expert level experience with Windows operating systems * Must have prior experience configuring, managing and monitoring a Windows infrastructure in a mid to large environment * Strong demonstrated knowledge of scripting, powershell, Active Directory, Group Policies, software packaging/deployment, and System Center (primarily SCCM) * Experience with wired and wireless network design and implementation, Clustering, DNS, WiFi, LDAP, SQL, perl, PHP, SAN, Hyper-V/VMware and Unix/Linux servers is also desirable * Excellent organizational abilities, including initiative, follow-through, and attention to detail * First-rate customer service attitude * Strong communication skills, written and verbal * Ability to troubleshoot to the root of a problem * Bachelor's degree preferred General Responsibilities * Cooperatively plan, design and implement wired and wireless network infrastructure * Provide tactical and strategic input on overall network planning and related projects * Continuously audit system security * Build and maintain Windows desktop images and software packages * Provide Tier 3 Windows desktop support * Recommend and implement upgrades for core systems * Develop custom tools in Powershell, PHP, C#, Python and shell scripts * Maintain Windows servers hardware, software, and OS * Test and maintain system backups * Support email, file storage mechanisms, application servers, sql servers, hypervisor servers and web servers * Create and maintain detailed documentation of all systems and services * Envision new technology to assist with college goals Additional Information Technology Responsibilities * Attends staff meetings * Take direction from the Associate Directors of Core Services and will work within a team-environment to achieve campus goals * Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Directors of Core Services and the Director of Technology Services If you have any questions, please let me know.
