You'd need to interact with Request Filtering to get for example the 1e
Nomad product working.

Sure it's applicable to IIS 7 but that doesn't mean it's still applicable to
ConfigMgr 2012.

I'll ask the Product Group as I'd like to know the answer, I've assumed we
don't do this, it may be a result of hearing from the PG or other MVP's that
this is a historical action not relevant today.

Per that article, this is applicable to both IIS 6 and 7 so it should be the
same.

I wouldn't call these "required" by any means. Most implementations of
ConfigMgr I have done I've never done either and never had an issue.

OK. Thanks.

What about Kerberos authentication? On SCCM 2007 distribution points it was
basically required to switch to Kerberos session based authentication
(authPersistNonNTLM = True) to improve performance and reduce load on AD
and firewalls.
-may-experience-slow-performance-when-using-bits-and-kerberos-authentication
-on-configmgr-2007-distribution-points.aspx)

Is this still a required modification, or does SCCM's management of IIS 7
make this change, or maybe IIS 7 has session based Kerberos auth. enabled by
default?

I can't really find any information at all about tweaking the IIS setting
for SCCM 2012. Even knowing now that I must continue to modify the request
filters in SCCM 2012 - I can't find one speck of evidence in the
documentation or blogs that mentions this in relation to 2012.

Just going through the long list of modifications to IIS that SCCM 2007
required and trying to figure out what is still relevant.

Yep. The request filters have nothing to do with WebDAV, they are IIS
filters.

Yes, we still need to set the IIS filters on our DPs. Running 2012 R2 CU1.

On SCCM 2012 distribution points, with the move away from IIS WebDAV, is
request filtering for file types still a concern?

I had to unblock several file types on my 2007 DPs, and I wonder if I need
to do the same for 2012 DPs.

What about those hidden segment setting that were so critical in 2007, are
those settings a thing of the past too?
