Not only does Java infect users, push adware on grandmothers, teach users not to update applications - it's also terribly packaged. Oh, the update failed? No, not going to rollback, the entire thing is broken now. Sucks for you. I guess you're not approving ADP timecards today, lol! I can deploy Flash to 1600 computers in the middle of the day and get one failure. ONE. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. While people are watching My Little Pony videos on YouTube. I need a hug. =( Daniel Wolf From: listsad...@lists.myitforum.com<mailto:listsad...@lists.myitforum.com> [mailto:listsad...@lists.myitforum.com] On Behalf Of Marcum, John Sent: Tuesday, August 12, 2014 11:23 AM To: mssms@lists.myitforum.com<mailto:mssms@lists.myitforum.com> Subject: [mssms] RE: Destroy Java! For versions 1.4.2 and above: http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/uninstaller_toolinfo.xml The thing that makes it most difficult is that devices still sometimes need Internet Explorer killed first to uninstall. Can handle that by only running the tool when no user is logged in, using the PS App Deploy Toolkit to gently have user close it, or adding a really mean taskkill.exe to your script. I am trying to get rid of Java on my workstations. I've tried various uninstall methods but none are 100% successful. Actually not even close to 100%. I've tried just running the uninstall stings, various scripts that I found online and even manually through add/remove programs with no luck. Does anyone know if Oracle has any kind of removal tool that can be deployed from ConfigMgr? ________________________________ John Marcum MCITP, MCTS, MCSA Desktop Architect Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP ________________________________ [cid:image001.png@01CFB62A.91B47C40] ________________________________ Confidentiality Notice: This e-mail is from a law firm and may be protected by the attorney-client or work product privileges.
