Why not use the built in maintenance tasks? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/e555d7e3-3681-440a-82d0-319d2b4bdd08#BKMK_PlanMaintenanceTasks
Delete Obsolete Client Discovery Data Not available Ø Not available Use this task to delete obsolete client records from the database. A record that is marked as obsolete has usually been replaced by a newer record for the same client. The newer record becomes the client's current record. Important When enabled, configure this task to run at an interval greater than the Heartbeat Discovery schedule. This enables the client to send a Heartbeat Discovery record that sets the obsolete status correctly. For information about Discovery, see Planning for Discovery in Configuration Manager<http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712308>. Can I safely delete the obsolete clients in that collection? Best regards, Rui Pinto 2014-08-14 3:10 GMT+01:00 Mike Dzikowski <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>: Inactive clients are clients that haven't checked in via heartbeat. Obsolete clients are clients that have been replaced by other clients. Maybe duplicates, or clients that have been replaced by a new client from OSD, etc. Mike D- ________________________________ Date: Thu, 14 Aug 2014 04:57:19 +0530 Subject: [mssms] Difference between Obsolete,Inactive Machine in SCCM Collection Tab From: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> To: [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Hi All, What is the Difference between Obsolete,Inactive Machine in SCCM Collection Tab Regards Gowtham The information transmitted is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain CONFIDENTIAL material.
