Never got an error, it would just time out looking for the PXE server, and then
boot on into the OS that was already preloaded. I went through MS support on
that one, and after checking PXE settings (we’re using IP helper, which I’m
told is necessary to image UEFI devices), and confirming those were good, it
was recommended to get a MS USB Ethernet adapter. Go that, plugged it in, and
it immediately saw that PXE connection and acted normal from there out.

I had to get the official USB Ethernet adapter from Microsoft, and then it
immediately saw the PXE server.

hi,
as I don't have access to a SP3 docking station i'd like to know if any of you
lot have tried imaging the Surface Pro 3 while plugged into the docking station
using the built-in gigabit nic on the back of the dock,
if so, did you image via Configuration Manager or MDT and how was the
experience (any issues or gotchas from using the DOCK versus traditional usb
dongle nic for imaging)?

let me know please and thanks in advance

cheers
niall
