Mike got his original questions answered, which is most important, and *I* managed to keep my mouth shut as well! That said, and in spite of John’s “I like seeing the question about third party add-ins”, I can safely tell you that we at 1E will not answer those questions here. Instead we will typically go off-line (as happened here for Mike’s answer) if it appears we can help. Why not post publicly here for the benefit of all? Simple. It’s been clear for a very long time that this type of thread cannot be done here in the (healthy) context John alluded to. It invariably goes into the tank every time (and I will state up front that I have been guilty of less-than-helpful comments myself in the past). It is hard to refrain when someone calls your baby ugly or tries to hijack the thread. Likewise there are a lot of folks here that flat out do not want to see these posts, period. Those sentiments have been made clear on a number of occasions. We at 1E, like many others I’m sure, are all here lurking. My colleagues and I will try to help where we can, but in a manner that is not disruptive to this list (i.e. privately). Consequently you will not see 1E personnel making posts/replies here relating to 1E tools or add-ins. Instead, we rely on our blogs to do this for us, which you will also see syndicated via the myITForum daily newsletter aggregator if you subscribe to it. That is all. Back to your egg nog. I like seeing the questions about third party add-ins. I may not use a particular add-in but seeing a question about it may lead me to investigate doing so. So long as the questions are asked about an add-in and the vendors reply responsibly what's the problem? What causes problems is when a competing vendor jumps in and says, "well my product will do that better than his product", which I have not witnessed in a very long time.
