Is the Logs directory excluded from real time AV scanning?

I’ve seen similar “funnies” like this before where it looks like ConfigMgr is
trying to update the log at the same time AV is trying to scan it.

When you look at the log in Notepad are there blank lines in it and if yes, is
the line above the blank line the last line you see in CMTrace?

Make sure the “Ignore existing lines” checkbox is not checked in the File, Open
dialog box:

I've seen logs with corruption causing cmtrace to fail to render ... archive
the logs and let them get regenerated.

I have two site server logs: wcm.log and wsusctrl.log that aren’t displaying
correctly in cmtrace. Wcm.log doesn’t list anything after 3 Feb; wsusctrl.log
displays nothing at all. Both logs display current data when opened in notepad.

I’m aware there was an issue with cmtrace displaying >8000 lines in CM 2012
RTM, but I thought this was resolved in SP1 (which we’re running). Any thoughts?

Daniel.
