2am backup sounds like the normal CM12 backup the extra back is likely from SQL itself. How do you know that two backup are occurring? This will help point to the problem.

I have specified 1 backup to run at 2 am and that time is consistent. The other backup seems to move around in time. I have reviewed the smswriter.log and it references OnIdentify event triggered. which is the same event as the scheduled backup. Does anyone know where I can dig deeper?
