I have done two things to try to combat this: 1. Change the delay on the balloon notification in the taskbar:

Change the final notification to 2 hours, this isn’t the best option, but it keeps our associates somewhat happy. (I assume you know how to do this, if not let me know and I will be happy to provide details). In the future, I would love to implement something like this to control ALL restarts. Also, I found a couple of threads on connect, please vote them up so we can get this fixed in a CU or future version. We are getting complaints because the users aren’t getting notifications of restarts until the last 15min warning, which they can’t close. We give the users 6 hours to restart the machine, but the problem is that the notification of the restart appears for 5 seconds and then it disappears (ie easy to miss). The green restart notification appears in the notification area on the taskbar (Win7) but the user won’t see this unless they go looking for it. So, how does everyone else deal with this? Am I missing something? ________________________________ Information in this message is sent in confidence and is intended only for the use of the individual or entity to whom it is addressed.
