If you do go down the prestaging route. We use this script to clone DP’s from
one to another :

Have you looked into prestaging the content?

Thank you for the suggestion Cesar, but sadly they are not members of the same
site so I do not think I can pull from the 2008 DPs (I could be wrong though).

If they are members of the same site and servers are close to each other (same
data center), make the 2012 DPs pull from the 2008 DPs if what you are asking
is content replication.

Hello,

We are currently in the process of changing our SCCM environment from Windows
Server 2008 R2 to 2012 R2. We have set up the new primary site, configured the
new distribution points, etc. and everything seems to be working just fine so
far.

The only issue that I am currently having is that I need to transfer all of the
content from the old distribution points (2008 R2) to the new ones. Right now,
the only solution that I’ve found is to simply recreate all of the software
package in SCCM, which might take a while. Any solutions to this?

Please note that I have already done the migration between the two sites, but
the packages are still pointing to the old Distribution Points.

Thank you,

Jonathan
