Which version of SCCM are you running? What we have done is that we deploy an available task sequence in SCCM 2012 that is only visible to USB or PXE. That way an end user can't accidentally run it from within the Software Center. When we were on SCCM 2007 I created a Reimage collection that we would temporarily place machines in to be imaged. That collection had the task sequence(s) advertised to it. We did it this way when we would come across a machine that needed to be imaged. On mass refreshes we would just create a collection of the machines to be refreshed and advertise/deploy a required task sequence to that collection.
