Ok. I am confused. I am getting these errors in my mp control manager logs. I have googled some and found that I should look at my mp_hinv log. (Also, a lot of articles state that even though the Message detail is complaining about sms_def.mof missing data that it has be depreciated and not longer exists in 2012) In the mp_hinv log I see multiple hits for missing InstanceName. So I go to my client policy for Hardware settings properties and see that I indeed have the hardware extended for HPBIOS and in several of those extensions I have InstanceName selected. I export the extension to a mof I can read in excel called inventory.mof. I do not find the InstanceName anywhere. I resolve that the Hardware policy is a child policy of the default policy. So I go to my client settings and look at my default client settings properties and find the gold I am looking for. I export that to a mof called default.mof and review it in Excel. Now I have found the InstanceName in this export many many times but I still don't know how to fix the MP control manager message 5416 and 5418. Do I copy the default.mof to the inbox\hinv directory on the server? Do I edit the configuration.mof in that same directory? Do I do something entirely different? Thank you in advance.
