After upgrading our first clients to Symantec Endpoint Protection v14 this morning, we soon started receiving reports of a recurring popup message advising that "UpdateTrustedSites.exe has stopped working". It appears that something in the new version of Symantec causes UpdateTrustedSites.exe to crash.
Symantec client version: 14.0.1904.0000 64-bit SCCM client version: 5.00.8412.1307 Thread on Symantec forums discussing the issue: https://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/updatetrustedsitesexe-error-sep-14x-windows-10-1607-system-center-config-manager-client#comment-11719591 According to posts in that thread, Symantec recommended the OP opening a case with "them". I'm not sure if the OP contacted Symantec support or Microsoft support, but apparently his resolution was to create an exception for SEP Application control to ignore the file "c:\windows\ccm\updatetrustedsites.exe".
