I am at a customer site and they upgraded to the 1702 version of CM last night. They are located outside St. Louis, MO. They have about 32 remote DPs connected to their single Primary SCCM site. At my suggestion they are pushing out additional MPs to some of these DPs.
We selected a DP that was geographically near us in Minnesota and pushed out the MP role to that machine. Monitoring the log files we noticed a lot of red and upon closer examination found that the machine had restarted in the middle of the role installation. I personally thought that a bit odd and suggested that he pick another DP that was in a different time zone in deep night and push another MP role to that machine. Customer examined the machine remotely and determined that no reboot was pending. We then selected the MP role and pushed it to this machine. A few minutes later I noticed a few red lines and saw that the following error had been written to the log file: The operating system reported error 1115: A system shutdown is in progress. Has this been documented anywhere? If it has please direct me to the source because I have not seen it. Of course the installation failed and will be retried in the next polling cycle.
