That’s not correct. Setting up an Azure tenant/account is free and Azure AD is
a free service. There are many paid services within Azure, but Azure AD is not
one of them.

Generally, folks only set up Azure AD in combination with one these paid
services that require it – like Office 365 or Intune – but that is not required.

I have a paid subscription (part of my Visual Studio with MSDN entitlements),
so I tested using that.
From what I understand, any Azure AD tenant will do it, even an Office365
tenant can do it.
I had originally thought that AAD Premium would be needed, but was told that
Premium isn’t needed.
Sorry that’s a roundabout way of saying that I don’t really know ☹
But... Are there any “free” AAD options? I thought not?

Thanks.
I knew those and they don’t answer the kind of azure I need.
I’d like to start with minimum but what is the minimum?

Do I already need a paid service or not?

Hi,

I’d like to use the windows store with configmanager, offline aps are fine, but
I’ve never dealt with azure.

What kind of subscription would I need?
What account should I use for Azure AD? Not a personal one as that one would be
permanently linked to it right?

Cheers, roland
