1703 screwed a lot of app thingies up. 1709 has only fixed a few. Tread carefully

Two different things. The apps you call out below are not Microsoft apps, not built-in, and thus not subject to removal using Michael's script or anything similar - they instead come from the store as noted. This can be prevented by setting the appropriate group policy which Michael also describes in his blog post(s). Worked great. Went to go use it again, as I build our new 1709 image (we skipped 1703), and am not having the same success. Packages that I select with that script, are indeed removed after imaging, but they soon come back. They are still listed in the app list, and soon rebuild themselves. Can't just right click and delete from the menu either (that would be too easy). Some packages (Code Writer, Eclipse Manager, etc.) appear that were never detected with the script to begin with. I'm curious how others are dealing with image building and removing unwanted apps in their 1709 image.
