I see your point there, but to me, "*_1 < 5" is more readable than both a
"testIfValueIsLittlerThanFive" (verbosely named) and a "functor" (vaguely
named).  Or maybe that's just me?

Another point is that if you use predicates in STL algorithms heavily, after
sometime you'll end up with zillions of predicate functions/functors in your
source files.  Boost.Lambda saves you from that.
