I've found that doing a "Save All" and/or closing the solution itself just before closing down the devenv fairly much ensures that the date is updated, correctly. As with Ehsan, the only time I've seen a date not update properly is when the devenv is forced to shutdown or crashes, or the system itself hangs or such.
