Hi All,
[snipped]
On a WIn2K Pro workstation this results in a clickable hpyer-link when this entry is viewed in EventVwr but on WinXP Pro the same code diesnot produce a clickable hyper-link. Obviously there is a way to achieve a clickable hyper-link in the Event Log on WinXP - as some of the OS entries contain one - but my code (above) doesn't produce one.
Hmm, I couldn't find an example in system generated log entries which contains such a hyperlink. All file paths on my system seem to come in the usual syntax, without the file:// protocol prefix. Of course, all http:// protocol prefixed URLs have been hyperlinked.
Can you post one of the system generated log entries which generates such a hyperlink? I checked out the log viewer's window class, and it's RichEdit20W. This window is capable of generating hyperlinks, as other apps using it do generate hyperlinks. Just FYI.
