I don't know an online article about it from the top of my head
(although if you look around on CodeProject here:
http://www.codeproject.com/printing/ I'm sure you'll find what you
need), but if you can find someone in your environment with a copy of
the Petzold (that is, Charles Petzolds 'Programming Windows',
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/157231995X/sr=1-1/qid=1137483210/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-5829877-3803963?%5Fencoding=UTF8),

that book has a very good description of the way Windows printing works
and specifically how measuring printed pages works.

Also, when writing a new message to the list, could you use the 'new'
button in your mail client? If you reply to other messages and just
change the subject line, and don't change X-Reply-To and similar
headers, you confuse mail clients who rely on those headers to do
threading and make it hard for us people who use such clients to read
mailing list mail. Thanks.

cheers,

roel
