You may have already check this but you need to make sure the parallel port
is set for ECP mode in the BIOS. I would also make sure the cable is
IEEE-1284 compliant. It should say so on the cable.

Subject: Trouble with OfficeJet G95
Hi
I have 2 laptops, a virgin one with W2k and an old one with W98. I am
trying to connect via a parallel cable (initially) to an OfficeJet G95
using V2.43 drivers.
On the virgin system it loads the drivers as expected, but test prints
never work. If you use the HP G55 drivers it does work but with reduced
functionality (not ideal)
On the old system using exactly the same install disk it works fine,
using the correct drivers. My "theory" is that the old system had
previously registered HP printers in its life and maybe some files have
been left "hanging" around causing it to work.
HP btw sent a new driver disk (exactly the same version though....)
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated...
Rgds
Alyn
