Ok, are these two users connecting in from the same location? Or are they
connecting from seperate locations. Also, are they using the exact same
router? If they are seperate locations, the reason it is not working, that
if you are using the default connection settings for your router, is because
the vpn detects the connection from router 1 & 2, each with different public
IP's the the IP header, yet the vpn also detects the private address of each
router's computers which are the same. This kind of activity is blocked int
he very nature if security, just consider the idea of how easy you coud IP
spoof this, if vpn products allowed this behavior. Just an idea, changing
the subnet of the local machines would be a good start to fix this problem.

What router are you using?

Both of the remote users had the router configured to 192.168.1.X

I just changed one of the routers to 192.168.2.x and that corrected the
issue for me. I still dont' know the details behind why this is working yet.

Does your router give you a default IP address like mine. Mine is
192.168.1.101 and the other pc is 192.168.1.142. And if you can let me know
what you mean by changing the default subnets how.

Thanks
Rich

I am running into a problem similar to this, try making sure the two PCs are
on different subnets. I have had two PCs using 2 besrf41 (4 port) routers
try to connect to the VPN at the same time. The first one in prevented the
other one from working. Once I changed the subnet from the defaults on the
router, both could then log on.

Hello,

        I have a linksys Router 8 port model #BEFSR81 its a cable/dsl
router. The problem I have is to connect two remote users in New Jersey to
a server in New York to a VPN/RAS connection. I can connect one person to
the VPN/RAS but the other computer can not connect at the same time due to
an error 781. The two computers that are trying to connect have windows
2000 pro. The sever has windows NT 4.0 SP4. Is there a way to connnect
these computers at the same time to our VPN? If not do I have to purchase a
different type of hardware to accomplish this connection? All help would be
great.

RGDS,
Rich
