A Windows 2000 user cannot find files she saved in a sub-folder inside
of her "My Documents" folder.

These are documents that she either creates in her local Word and saves
in the folder, or that she creates from her Word at home and emails to
herself at work.

When she browses with Explorer into the sub-folder, she can see some
files, but not some of them. Same thing happens when she browsers from
the Open menu item in Word.

When she does a Search, she can see these files. Half of the times, they
will not open and she gets the message "The command will not execute".

In that last case, she has to copy the document from the Search result
window to her desktop in order to open it and then save it again into
the same folder. No message warning her about an existing file with the
same name.

This happens when the sub-folder is at level 3 inside of the My
Documents folder, or sometimes at a lower level, but this time when the
folder has an ampersand in its name.

This is a Win2K upgraded from Windows 98. Her local Office is 2002 (aka
XP). Her home Office is 98.

I am totally dumbfounded... What is going on? Anybody an idea?
