try copying ntkrnlmp.dbg as ntoskrnl.dbg. I'm guessing that the server is multiprocessor and your workstation is not. I don't know if what I've proposed will get you past that, but I'd expect it to be the resolution. (Assuming you don't need to debug on an MP machine.)

The server is running sp5. I have a directory on my PC to which I have downloaded the sp5 symbols from the MS website. The syntax I am using is: dumpexam -v -f c:\exam.txt -y c:\sp5symbols c:\server1.dmp The message I receive is "unsupported processor type". I've never had any trouble using this utility before, does anybody know what I might be doing wrong? ------ You are subscribed as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
