Are you sure those are not shortcuts to other shares or sites on the
network?

Here's a question that's either extremely simple, or truly bizarre.

I have a Win2K Server that was running out of disk space on drive C (system
drive).
Since nothing should get written here, I was of course concerned. I found
that all the room was being taken up by files located under: \Documents and
Settings\myUserID\NetHood\xxx

xxx seems to be some type of "shortcut" to a share on one of my file
servers.
While it does says Folder Shortcut in the Type field in Explorer, it's not a
true shortcut, if I delete a file or folder there in Nethood, it deletes it
on the file server (different PC).

Since it's taking up almost 20g, I need to remove it, but I'm not sure: How
to remove it Why it happened (and how) Why you would want this How to ensure
this never happens again

I looked through the MS-KB, but either I'm not using the correct phrase to
search on, or it's not in there.

Hope this made sense!!

Thanks,
Dennis
