I am currently in the process of setting up our corporate desktop image and part of the image includes the "My Computer" registry hack. This hack allows for the My Computer icon to have its name changed dynamically. In our case it shows the username and the computername of the box.
In any case, I am running W2K Pro/SP2. It is a standard build with Office 2000/SP1a. However, after applying the hack, I notice that the name that the icon holds reverts back to My Computer. Any ideas why this is happening and/or suggestions on how to fix it? I have noticed that the it reverts after I run Windows Update and install one of the Critical Updates.
