That would largely depend on the error and the program. It sounds like
you're using some sort of x-base... dBASE for DOS, maybe? If the error
appears in a DOS box within the program (as it seems you're indicating), and
it is not a Windows message box, then it's likely within the program itself,
and not related to your network (it's early in the morning... I state the
obvious).

My point is that if it's program-related, the maker of your program would be
the one to ask (if they still exist). Reindexing does sound like it would be
a dBASE kind of thing, though. If that's the case... if it IS dBASE, a
company called dBASE, Inc. has formed and bought dBASE from Borland years
ago. They are at... www.dbase.com.

Subject: Dos critical error

Hello,

We have a Dos based program on our Windows Nt server that is shared
over the network for everyone to use. From time to time people report back
to me that they recieve a dos critical error. Does anyone know what causes
a Dos critical error to occur. I ussually do somthing called a reindex that
comes with the program to fix it. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks
Rich
