It is a damn shame when IT is not held in high regard, you normally find
that expenditure and downtime is very high in these companies. I have seen
it too many times, and what continues to amaze me is when it jumps and bites
them in the butt, they pay small fortune to fix the immediate problem then
continue as if nothing ever happened. Avoiding small disasters just too
costly.

Management need to take a good look at themselves.

Thanks. I appreciate the advice. I know I have to concentrate on the
groups and such, but we have to function as a company. IT is not held in
the highest regard over here, so we are always asked to make things happen
regardless of how. I have implemented groups for the larger dept.'s
already. I guess there is just no way around it.

Damn the old architect of this Systems environment. :)

I think that if you don't address the groups now, you will only be hurting
yourself.

You essentially have to ask the same questions to create the appropriate
groups as to copy credentials around...

You can play with SUBINACL to accomplish some of what you want, or look at
tools like Security Explorer, but setting up the groups would make the most
sense.

Subject: Copy User Info

Hi all,

I was curious as to whether any of you out there are familiar with a tool[s]
that would allow me to propogate all of one particular users information to
another. I know that groups is the best way to do this, but I am looking
for an alternative. I want to propogate complete user information
[printers, access rights to folders, shares etc..] from user a to user b.

Thanks in advance.
