I use DumpEvt from http://www.somarsoft.com/. The version I have is older, free, and doesn't do the extra AD logs. The newer version does do the AD logs but the download is apparently a trial version so perhaps it will eventually cost money. I've been using this for years. The version I downloaded comes with some Access modules that parse the info field for useful information like the user and computer that caused failed logons. I built on that to build some descripting tables and queries. I schedule DumpEvt to run daily on all my servers and dump the results to a central server which is then queried with my access database to see failed logons, critical errors, etc.
