I have a wins server running on a 2000 box. (ip 10.0.0.3). In the wins
settings I set the first (I guess you can call it primary) wins setting as
10.0.0.3. So its using itself as a wins server, as I used to do with all my
NT 4.0 WINS servers. The problem is that it keeps tombstoning itself. every
few weeks (about two or three weeks) I loose name resolution to this box. I
look in the wins table and the entry is tombstoned. Very odd. any clues to
why this might be happening? any ideas how to fix it? (I know I can make a
static entry, but that seem more like a patch then a fix).
I would appreciate any ideas.
