Actually that IS your limit. It's not just 4 banks of shadow-registers,
it's 4 banks of EVERYTHING.

You haven't recalculated what I said, right? :) I had counted R in, it's
not used for refresh in Z380 anymore.
I know on MSX2 you can use I, but hadn't included it in the register count
for Z380, because I think it would be much better if we'd use a different
Interrupt Mode. (There's even an extra one on Z380, but I haven't looked
much into them yet)
Anyway, if you really want to use I, it's a 24 bit register in Z380.
Actually, talking about interrupts. There are 4 levels of external
interrupts, and each can be disabled seperately! So if you have for
instance the VDP and another device, if you connect them to different
interruptlines on the chip you can disable the VDP int's without loosing
the other.
