Hm, I'm using my MSX regularly and during more than a few hours
(game developing ain't small business :-)) so I guess the battery's
really heading for the eternal hunting grounds :-/

I blew an elco to bits 'n pieces once. I guess an overcharged
battery will smell alike, which isn't a pretty thing indeed :*(
