According to the technical datbook the VDP-commands are only garuanteed
to work in gfxmode 4 (=screen 5) and higher. Since I haven't tested it,
you will have to try yourself.
If it works you have found one of the hidden features of the VDP.
Problem will be that most emulators will refuse to work with your newly
discovered hidden feature.
