People,

  TWO LINERS GP
  RULES

  Yep! Let's shake the MSX scenery. So, we decided to create the Two
  Liners GP, which will choose the best two lines program, into any
  of these classes: Utility, One Line, Game or Demo/Fun, all of them
  written in MSX-Basic.

  There will be four classes, although there will be needed to create
  another classes:

  Utilities : Programs which you can use to do little tasks. These
                little pieces of code should be really useful, please
                do not write a program which changes all occurrencies
                of 'duck' by 'ape' into a textfile.

  Games : Programs which can be used as relaxing and pleasure.
                You can have any game: Action, adventure, strategy,
                etc.

  Demo/Fun : Programs which can't be classified as above, so they
                aren't useful and playable either, but you can have
                fun with them, using sound and graphic effects, etc.

  The prizes weren't chosen yet, but all the programs will be placed
  on the free disk "Food for your MSX #2", from the zine MSX Force.
  The best will be chosen based on objective avaliations like size,
  program's logic, performance and subjective avaliations like ease
  of use, etc.

  The best programs (in each category: Utility, Game and Demo/Fun)
  will receive a prize. There will be the people's choice too, where
  everybody can vote and say which program is the best (when the
  subscription's period will be finished, all the program will be
  put on a homepage where can be taken and used), and finally, the
  special prize to the smallest (SMALLEST) one line program.

  You can send almost three programs per class (nine programs in the
  end). The judges can send programs too, but they can only have
  subcribed software into the 'People's Choice' category.

  So, you should write down this paper below and send it to
  [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the subject "% Two Liner GP", in order
  to avoid problems with the mailing filter. So, you'll receive a mail
  telling that your program had been subscribed to the GP. Please send
  your program as a compressed file (ZIP, ARJ, RAR, PMA, Gzip or
  LHA), attached (UUencode, MIME or BinHex), with your first, last
  name or nickname (the way that you're best known).

  The deadline is July, 15h. Then the softwares will be examined (from
  July 16th to 22th), and finally, in the 3rd MSX User's National
  Encounter/Brasilia 98 (July 25th to 26th) the results will be told.
  But first, please read some considerations:

  * Any BASIC extensions won't be allowed, like KunBASIC and its
    similars, like NestorBASIC, XBASIC, Turbo-Basic, Screen IV, etc.,
    as any external commands implemented by any cartdriges. You can
    use the CALL commands which are related to:
    - MSX-DOS (_SYSTEM, etc..);
    - MSX-DOS 2 (_SYSTEM(), _CHDRV, etc...);
    - JIS Driver (KANJI ROM);
    - MSX MUSIC and MSX AUDIO (FM PAC and Music Module) or other
      audio card;
    - MSX-BASIC own extensions, like _PCMREC, _PCMPLAY, _PAUSE, from
      Turbo-R.

  * The program can't read from the disk-drive any external executable
    module, musics, Assembly routines, character fonts, pre-drawed
    screens, etc.

  * The program should be 100% MSX-Basic, it won't be allowed to use
    any BIOS routine or Assembly files.

  * You can use any VDP and PSG commands, you can use any commands like
    SET ADJUST, SET SCROLL, _MUSIC, etc.

  Any doubts, please send us a mail.
