This might sound stupid, but is the CD-ROM player jumpered
as slave and the harddisk as master?
I haven�t tried connecting a cd-rom player to the ide, so I
don�t know that much about it...
BTW: did you install the right bios? In the beginning there
were several bios, one for just one HD, one for 2 hd�s
