I know that in Brasilia they have a msx-type computer
with z180. But I cant't remember its features.
And at the last msx meeting in Jau' (23-24/05/98) we
saw a msx2+ board with Zilog z380 made by Ademir Carchano.
Unfortunately, it was not running there... We just
saw the board.
Ademir said that it was it last project. All digital
circuit of MSX were in a PLD FPGA chip. Just V9938 and VRAM
out. It was all for 18 Mhz, but he tested 21 Mhz (the VDP
clock) direclty on the z380 and it worked.
But he wants to make a 100% new bios (compatible),
but without some problems of MSX. He plans to make a Pc-like
bus to use PC boards, and an adapter for MSX cartridges.
It will be good...
