Well, I can at this moment think only two reasons...

1. Some computers are checking some data from I/O port #F7, when they
boot. If this I/O port is used by some illegaly behaving software, then
the result may be something like this.

2. If you are using MSX tR, then this is quite a easy thing to do by using
I/O ports #E4 and #E5. I managet to get my tR to that condition many
times, when I searched Z80 DRAM mode combination and other undocumented
options, before I managed to find what I was looking for. I even managed
to get "Auto fire lamp" blinking same time, when my computer hanged totaly
!!!
