Hi all,
here is the 2nd try to make some rules for the basic compo. I agree with
people that say we have to make this compo on standard msx, so i make some
modification:
1) No ML allowed:
- Bload with ,r is not allowed
- Usr is totally not allowed
- Call not allowed
- Poke & peek not allowed.
2) Basic accelerator:
- not allowed if they don't come with the standard you are using (msx
1/2/2+ or tr)
3) MSX Systems (on wich the demo have to run to be in the compo):
- MSX 1 64Kb ram with tape or disk
- MSX 2 64Kb ram - 128Kb Vram - one 720 disk - 3.57Mhz Z80A - DOS 1
- MSX 2+ (need specification)
- Turbo R (need specification)
4) Memory: CTRL pressed.
5) Sections (like PC demo compo):
- One-Line: exactly ONE line of BASIC, no other files allowed.
- Ctrl : As long as it fits in the bytes free after boot with CTRL
pressed, no other files allowed.
- Disk : max 720kb. More than one file allowed.
- All the BAS files must be unprotected.
6) Music:
- only Play and Sound allowed.
7) Ftp & Web (i must ask to Tristan and NYYRIKKI):
- Ftp site: ftp.funet.fi /pub/msx/demo/basic/compo/msx1 -
/pub/msx/demo/basic/compo/msx2 - /pub/msx/demo/basic/compo/msx2p -
/pub/msx/demo/basic/compo/tr
- all the demos must be uploaded in one file. If a demo is more than one
file it must be compatted in one file in lha or pma format.
- Web: www.clinet.fi/~nyke/basic_compo (i hope that Nyyrikki will get the
demos from the ftp)
8) Date:
- deadline 22th of February 24:00
- upload con start 1st of February 0:00 - so we have 3 weeks
- you can vote from 1st 0:00 to 25th 24:00 of February
- results on the web page at least on 28th nigth
9) Prizes:
- 1st prize: everlasting fame
- 2nd prize: fame that lasts for 3 years
- 3rd prize: fame that lasts for 1 year
10) Voters & votes:
- Everybody that can view the demos.
- Send a message containg your votes, one demo per section, at
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
For me this is the last posting for the beta version of the rules. The next
posting, after your new suggestion, will contain the definitive set of
rules, so we can start this compo. As i said before, the rules will be
posted also on the newsgroup. Ok?
